Tennessee Valley Authority’s Sequoyah Nuclear Plant Unit 2 near Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee has begun its scheduled refueling and maintenance outage.
An additional 700 TVA and contract employees will help the plant’s regular staff undertake 10,000 work activities, including loading new fuel assemblies, performing inspections of reactor components, undertaking maintenance of plant equipment and installing unit enhancements.
Sequoyah Unit 2 generated more than 13.5 billion KW/h over the last 18 months. Unit 1 completed refueling in January.
