The body of Ron Summers, who had been working the night shift on Friday, April 21 at the 142-MW Keokuk hydro facility, has been recovered from the Mississippi River.

According to the Des Moines Register, Summers fell from the dam in Iowa and was reported missing early Saturday morning. A search was launched and his body was found Sunday.

The newspaper reports that Michael Moehn, president of Ameren Missouri, said Summers was a hydro technician who had worked at the hydro facility for more than 50 years.

The Keokuk Energy Center has been operating since 1913 and the plant was inducted into the Hydro Hall of Fame in 2013.

Ameren also owns the 242.59-MW Osage project and 442.5-MW Taum Sauk pumped storage project, both in Missouri.
