Platte River Power Authority has signed a PPA for 150 MW of power capacity from a new wind facility under development in northern Colorado.
Enyo Renewable Energy plans to construct the Roundhouse project near Platte River’s Rawhide Energy Station. Though the total capacity of Roundhouse wasn’t specified, it could grow to up to 75 wind turbines on 14,000 acres.
When the project is finished in late 2020, the percentage of Platte River’s power generated by
“Platte River took a giant leap today to further diversify the energy portfolio serving northern Colorado,” said Jason Frisbie, CEO of Platte River Power Authority. “With this acquisition, we will dramatically increase our non-carbon energy footprint on behalf of our municipalities and northern Colorado residents.”
