Capital Power Corporation has filed a notice of intent with Oregon officials to construct a 350-MW wind facility near Pendleton.
If approved, the Nolin Hills Wind Power Project would begin construction in 2019 with commercial operations by the end of 2020, the Portland Business Journal reported.
Part of Nolin Hills is situated immediately to the northeast of NextEra’s Wheatridge Wind Energy Facility, which would total 500 MW if built.
Nolin Hills does not yet have a power purchase agreement, though Wheatridge already has an interconnection with Bonneville Power Administration and a site certificate.
